Description
Fall colors over Ashuelot Covered Bridge. Ashuelot New Hampshire is an unincorporated village of Winchester New Hampshire. As you travel through the Village of Ashuelot it's hard to miss the covered bridge. This is one of the few white painted caovered bridges in New England. The covered bridges are predominantly a natural wood color with a few being painted red. This one is a distictive White with a bright red metal roof. I liked how they have a low white fence leading the eye up to the walkway on the covered bridge which makes it easy for people to walk along the length of the covered bridge with out having to dodge traffic. Just on the other side of the covered bridge is the Ashuelot B&M Railroad Depot Which now houses the Winchester Historical Society. A rail trail extends from the bridge along the Ashuelot River for about 6 miles to where it joins the Connecticut River.
