Description
My romantic view of the Waits River church and village. This is a bit different from the Iconic Vermont view of the Waits River church. The Vermont fall foliage. I have processed that as a post card I saw in a shop. It was of course a painted version so I created my own interpretation of the scene. The rustic barns have hay stored for the animals for the winter and soon the snow will be on the ground. I can just hear the bells jingling in the distance... I have processed this in HDR and then added textures and light effects. This combines to bring out the different colors and I have spent quite a while removing the power lines and satellite dishes that have sprung up in the past 40 years. John Arnold Kaplan has this as one of the perfect Vermont iconic scenics but when he photographed it in the 50s and 60s, there were few power lines and no modern signs that this was anything but a rural Vermont village. If you are looking for a rural Vermont scenic that is without the modern signs of civilization then you will keep looking. I don't know of too many left with no signs of the hand of modern man on them. So I hope you enjoy my view of what Waits river church and village might have looked to you back in the 1950s.
