Description
Salem common and the Salem Witch museum in fog. The fog muffles the noises normally heard around Salem at night and it lends itself errily quiet as everything is muffled. Was that a cry as a witch is being hanged. Of course Salem is best known for it's part it played in the witch trials of 1692. The Salem Witch museum gives presentations on the witch trials of 1692. During the summer of 1692, 19 men and women were executed based on the accusations of young girls who were seen to be tortured by unseen spirits. One of the 19 was pressed to death because he would net admit guilt or claim innocence. The 80 year old man (Giles Corey) had a large plank of wood placed on him and large rocks were placed on the panel in hopes of getting him to confess or cry innocence. All he would say is "more weight"...
