We started building more ships to bring cargos from around the world to America. Soon we found our way from Salem to the orient and the luxury trade soon put Salem on the map. To quote an author, " Many Boston fortunes can be traced to sailors taking a single voyage on Derby's Astrea in 1793". We were determined to explore this world and discover her secrets. Trade with Asia was but a single one.
