I stood in awe of the scene before me. I arrived just as dawn crested the eastern hills and gently kissed the walls of the bowl. the trees that covered the walls of this geologic bowl glowed in the morning light. I reflected on the fall foliage reflecting in the mirror like reflection of the pond. I could see the moon dropping towards the far ridgeline and only just captured in my photo's snapshot in time.
The beaver pond or Kinsman Notch is just north of Woodstock New Hampshire and on the 2nd of October it was at full peak for the fall foliage that New England is known for. When you drive up into the western most notch of the White Mountains on a still morning you can get great reflections of the surrounding hillsides.
I blog about visiting all these places in New England during the autumn. The fall colors are ready to explore here at the beginning of Oct. Some years earlier and some years later but rarely do they fail us..
Beaver Pond is a New England pond surrounded by mountainous terrain in New Hampshire's Western White Mountains.
This scene was captured as the early light of dawn illuminated the eastern flanks of Mt Moosilaukee. The autumn foliage colors reflected nicely off the surface of the pond.
