Description

The Derby Lighthouse surrounded by the water of Salem harbor. Normally Lighthouses are situated right next to water but today the harbor is knocking at the foundation if the not the front door to the lighthouse. Scenic Salem Maritime is the first National Historic site in America. It was established in 1938 after the Historic sites act of 1935 was passed.
