Description
The #40 chugging through the fall colors as it starts it run down the line. The Essex Connecticut train runs several times a day taking passengers out and back. It's very expensive to keep these old steam engines running. While they are fairly simple compared to the computer maintained airplanes, they are difficult to keep going because the parts do wear out and no one makes them anymore. you have to have an in-house team to fashion new parts from scratch. These trains allow us to experience the feel of travel in the 1800s. The fall colors don't whiz by all that fast but this was high-speed travel back before the civil war...
