Description
Scituate lighthouse was built in 1810 at a cost of $4000. Over the years it has been rebuilt and the height raised to it's current height so it could be seen further out at sea.
Seen here against an American flag is my inspiration for all the sailors that it protected during storm or gloomy night.
In 1968 the town awarded custody and administration of the Lighthouse to the Scituate Historical Society, and in 1994 the light was relit for the first time in 134 years.
