A misty day at the feet of Vermont's Green Mountains softens the red, orange and golds of the New England fall foliage that starts at the forest edge and runs up the hills till the mist hides the colors in layers of grey. Vermont fall colors cover every shade that can be imagined and depending on the year, you will find every color to make your heart content. Travel to Vermont during the last week in Sept to the first two weeks in October to have the best chance to find Peak fall foliage but in truth either side of peak fall colors is wonderful to behold.
