When the middle of October rolls around and I'm getting tired of all the driving to Northern New England. Now the fall colors are beginning to come closer to home. So on a sunny afternoon I go out to the Peabody scenic byway near my house and I park my car and walk a mile up and a mile back, trying to not get run down. You see the people who use this byway are taking a shortcut over to I-95 and they are flying.
My only question is, are they even seeing what they are driving through? I found this because just down the road is the nursing home my father was in and I started stopping along the scenic byway to gather autumn leaves to bring the outdoors in to him. I think it amused him. For me it was a way to help him connect with what was going on in the outside world.
