Sunrise on Mackeral cove off of Lyon's park in Beverly Massachusetts. A balmy 25 degrees awaited me when I arrived in the predawn light. The sky was a faint pink but brightening quickly. I scanned the beach for a location to place my tripod and I settled in off to the right of the stone steps. So far no early morning dog walkers had arrived yet at Lyon's Park and the beach just below it but before too long they joined me on the beach. I used some graduated Neutral Density filters to tame the brightness of the sun as it peaked over the horizon and even tried a 10 stop filter to see the effect. The tide was very low and way out there were many different types of sea birds checking the tidal pools for breakfast.
