It was a grey day in Acadia National Park. The clouds were low and the light in the lighthouse was pulsing red. I played up theThis was shot in May at midmorning and the best shots are during the Dawn when the warm light lights up the granite rocks and the white tower, or sunset if you bracket and blend. Tourists can get close to the bell and light via a concrete path, but most of the grounds are private. There is a short walk which takes you to a series of wooden steps that lead you down onto the many granite boulders that provide a great view of the harbor side of the lighthouse. I would suggest both a wide angle lens and up to a 120mm telephoto. At a real low tide you can climb down on the rocks and give the viewer a really good idea of the rocky nature of the Maine shoreline. Bass Harbor lighthouse is in Acadia National Park, its located on the southwest point of Mount Desert Island Maine. Visit #vistaphotography by #jefffolger
