The old trains don't run that often any more but this doesn't mean we can't hear the rumble of the engines. Maybe you can hear Johnny Cash singing the Orange Blossom Special and you look back at this image and can image that the train manager stepped out to send a telegram. Maybe he was typing up a note on the old typewriter and he is out posting it on the board. Old train stations were in many little towns and this is how you got from place to place. Cars were a rarity in the early days. So if you had to travel you would get a sleeper car where you could sleep on the longer trips across the nation. It would take days to travel on a train from coast to coast. You would bring a book and a paper and just relax.
