Description
I love the fence line in this scenic Vermont farm image. You can find this in the rolling hills of central Vermont. The rain clouds just are passing and the fall colors are lit by the sun, poking through after the storm. I go to look for the New England fall foliage colors and I tell folks don't quit because of rain. I could see that the rain was beginning to break up while I was visiting the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park. Once the boyhood home of George Perkins Marsh, one of America's first conservationists, and later the home of Frederick Billings, the property was given to the American people by its most recent owners, Laurance S. and Mary F. Rockefeller. When I got there I went into the visitor center and bought a poncho since I didn't have rain gear with me (my first mistake) then in the rain I first hiked up to Pogue pond hoping that the sun would break through but I didn't wait long enough. (my second mistake) so, I walked back down to the Billings Farm & Museum, a working dairy farm and a museum of agricultural and rural life. By the time I got back down to the museum the sun was NOW... breaking through and this is when the magic can happen. (Made up for the first two mistakes, I hope)
