Artist's Description

Early spring with flowering cherry trees above Federal street which is both a residential street and a civic historic district in Salem Massachusetts. Along Federal street were the Essex county court buildings. The homes behind this wonderful period yellow wooden fence were built between 1810 and 1900. Most of the houses are either Italianate or Second Empire in their styling; there is one Colonial Revival house, #62, built 1900.
