The sun dips low in the sky and the lighthouse shines it's beam out over the water. Saliors of ships large and small look to shore based light and are glad for it's reassuring light sweeping round and round to give them guidnace. Nauset Light, officially Nauset Beach Light, is a lighthouse in Eastham, Massachusetts. The lighthouse sits above the beach along the National park called the Cape Cod National Seashore. Forty miles of soft sandy beach along with marshes, and ponds which support a wide range of birds. The lighthouse has a cast iron plate shell lined with brick and stands 48 feet high.
History
Nauset Light was constructed in 1877 and was originally one of two lights in Chatham. It was moved to Eastham in 1923 to replace the Three Sisters of Nauset, three small wood lighthouses that had been decommissioned. They have since been relocated to a small field just west of the Nauset L...
