Description
The large snow geese migrate from their breeding grounds on the tundra to 5000 miles south into the central united states. They can be white with black tips on their wings or a blue color which is very unusual. They stop in Addison Vermont at the Dead Creek Wildlife Management Area. Snow geese feed primarily on aquatic plants, grasses and grain. They mate for life, and their nests in the arctic are shallow depressions lined with grass, stems, and down, in which they lay 3 to 8 eggs.
