Description

The Slaughterhouse rustic covered bridge lies on Slaughterhouse road in Northfield Vermont. This rustic covered bridge takes the Slaughterhouse road over the dog river. The town is better known for being the home of Norwich University. Northfield has five covered bridges which I term the Northfield 5. This scenic Vermont covered bridge is my favorite because it has access from so many different points. This view looking back from down below a small cascade gives us a wonderful view of the cascade and boulders with the red covered bridge above it all. The fall colors are just beginning to turn at this point in Northfield Vermont and in 2-3 more weeks, it will be peak fall foliage around the Slaughterhouse covered bridge.
