Artist's Description

The fall colors can be seen on the fall shore. The Rigging Shed is gone now and has been replaced by Pedricks Store House over on Derby Wharf. Before Pedricks was brought over from Marblehead (seen in the distance with the fall colors) The Rigging Shed would be where the lines were repaired and mast and spars repainted as needed. In the late 1700s, there would have been many such buildings along the wharves of Salem Harbor.
