Description
On a warm and sunny afternoon I take a walk near my home and I'm constantly reminded of natures beauty. Also each day I go out and a few more leaves are gone and the temperatures fight a losing battle to stay warm and it gets cooler by degrees. The nights begin to get frosty and I have to grab a hold of each morning and enjoy the slow warm up. Here I found maple leaves with ragged edges and insect bites taken out. Not perfect examples of the Acer saccharum better known as the sugar maple or rock maple). This is a species of maple native to the hardwood forests of northeastern Canada, from Nova Scotia west through Quebec and southern Ontario to south eastern Manitoba around Lake of the Woods. In the USA, the species is common from Minnesota, to the New England states of Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island, and down to the Eastern seaboard states of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
