Perfect time for a spring walk.
Early spring with flowering cherry trees above Federal street which is both a residential street and a civic historic district in Salem Massachusetts. Along Federal street were the Essex county court buildings. The homes behind this wonderful period yellow wooden fence were built between 1810 and 1900. Most of the houses are either Italian or Second Empire in their styling; there is one Colonial Revival house.
There is a lot of Maritime history along this street even though the waterfront is a good stretch of the legs from here. The owners of the Friendship of Salem lived along this street.
