Description
Everytime I drive through northern New Hampshire I try to stop at Milan Hill State Park. It's right off Route 110A which is right off Route 16 and one of my favorite drives in autumn. You could stay there for the night by roughing it in one of their "yurts" (A traditional yurt (from Turkish) or (Mongolian) is a portable, round tent covered with skins or felt used as a dwelling by nomads in the steppes of Central Asia.) Once you arrive you will drive up the dirt road and you can't get lost since there is one way in and it loops back out on the same road. You will find a firetower at the top and you can climb 3 levels up and even in cloudy conditions you can see for long distances. Milan Hill State Park is located ten miles north of Berlin near popular areas for hiking, picnicking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and wildlife viewing. From this hilltop campground and the fire tower located there, (on a clear day) you can get a complete view of the mountain ranges in New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and Canada.
