Artist's Description
The Old North Bridge, Concord Massachusetts. On April 19th, 1775 in the early morning hours the British arrived at this bridge to search and take canons, powder and arms that they may find. This could have been a simple postscript to history and faded away. But The British movements didn't go unnoticed and in the dead of night a lantern was lit in the Old North Church in Boston. 1 if by land and 2 if by sea. The word went out and Paul Revere and two others, William Dawes and Samuel Prescott rode through the countryside to wake the militia. "To arms, to arms, the British are coming". The call went out and the British found they were faced with a small mitlitia at the Old North Bridge in Concord. As the hours wore on more and more militia showed up from the surrounding towns.
