Sailors dream of days like this with a bright day ahead of them and a quick breeze and smooth seas to cut through with the bow of their sailboats. The Marblehead to Halifax is the premier ocean race in the Northeast and first sailed in 1905. It is co-sponsored by the Boston Yacht Club and the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron. The 2011 event set new records. Sailors from the United States and Canada will converge on Marblehead over the Fourth of July for a round of social events highlighting the summer racing season.
