Artist's Description
The Brant Point lighthouse is one of several on Nantucket Island. Brandt Point is a short walk from down town. Nantucket was founded in the early 1600s and my ancestor was one of them. Peter Folger had a 1/4 land share and held many different positions such as interpreter in legal agreements for the Native Americans that were already living on the island when he and the others arrived. Nantucket Island lies off the Massachusetts coast and is less than a hour by ferry from Cape Cod.
