A misty rain falls as I climbed to the top of the Milan Hill fire tower. Plan to visit the Milan Hill State Park. You can find it in New Hampshire and it lies about 10 miles north of Berlin NH on route 16 and 3 miles south of exit 110, also on route 16. On the West side of the road you will find the entrance to the state park the road is rough but easily passable by most passenger cars. Be sure to stop at the park rangers station and deposit a fee in the box even if you're just going up for a few minutes to enjoy the view from the fire tower. I always drop a couple dollars in the donation box. If you're looking for a primitive camping area they've added for Yurts that you can rent by the night and also have campsites. As you follow the road around you will find it passes right below the fire tower where you can pull out of the way and Starcher climb up. It's only about 6270 feet up and it's a fairly easy climb.
