Today the Life Saving Station has been fully renovated and I hope it becomes a stop on one of the boat tours. Not too far away you can see Whaleback lighthouse. To the right in the image is Portsmouth lighthouse at the mouth to Portsmouth Harbor and the Piscataqua River. There are so many special things to see in this area. To get a closer view of Whaleback and the Wood Island lifesaving station, head over to Fort Foster which is much closer. or to New Castle in New Hampshire and Great Island Common to get great views of the lighthouses from there.
