Hot air balloons in Quechee Vermont. 13 hot air balloons heading towards the river towards the Quechee covered bridge. This is the annual Quechee balloon festival and while the balloons didn't ascend to the heavens on Friday night, on Saturday morning they made up for it. 19 balloons took off after the morning fog cleared and due to a High pressure centered over Quechee, there was little wind and the balloon pilots were able to find winds traveling in different directions and stayed around the Quechee covered bridge and then followed the river to the pond and I hear that two of the balloons made it over to the Quechee Gorge and went down inside the gorge. I also heard that this morning was the best in 20 years.
