Description
Derby Wharf light at the end of Derby wharf give guidance to ship pilots coming back into Salem Harbor. With global warming contributing to the high tide the lighthouse as it's seen here is nearly under water. The full moon is also happening during this time and if there was a storm you would see it easily cresting the wharf and crashing over the lighthouse it self. It may be gone in a few more years if Global warming contues to cause the ocean level to rise. Derby wharf light broadcasts its beacon for 3 second in red. Derby light is a part of the Salem Maritime Historic site and is a National park. It's the first National historic site in Massachusetts as well as the country.
