The early morning sun catches this sunflower as the dew evaporates and it stretches a little more to reach toward the suns light. The flower head of the sunflower is actually a composite flower made up of the outer petal-bearing florets which are seterile and can be yellow, red or orange. the florets on the inside of the circular head are called disc florets which mature into seeds
