Ferns in a Maine autumn turn golden with the cooler temperatures. There is a mixture of trees in this area with Evergreen and deciduous trees blending together in the Sun has difficulty making its way through the upper canopy down to the ground to illuminate the ferns. But some of the Sun does get through especially as we get closer to autumn and the leaves start to fall.
