Description
I found the Freeman Farm while I was walking one of the wooded paths in Sturbridge Village. Across the pasture, you first come to a rustic split rail fence aged black wood stands to keep the cows out of the garden. The fall colors over the red-painted wooden home make the home stand out. I found out red was a common paint color of buildings in the 18th & 19th century because it was cheap and easy to make. These buildings were brought in from around New England to create the village. Old period buildings from the 1800s where actors show you what life in the olden days was like.
