The Gold Standard

The Flume Gorge covered bridge takes a little walk to get into but is so worth it. The Bridge is a common one for aspiring photographers and professionals alike to capture. Right around the 1st of Oct is usually a safe date to take the walk in and catching it from above on the trail and down below is a good plan also. Franconia Notch State Park is located inbetween the between the high peaks of the Kinsman and Franconia mountain ranges. The Flume is a natural gorge extending 800 feet at the base of Mount Liberty. You can leave the visitor center and do a two mile loop which allows you to see a great vistas and Covered bridges like the Flume covered bridge seen in this view.
