This digital watercolor of the Squam River covered bridge shows a modern humpback covered bridge. The Squam River covered bridge carries River Road through the bridge and over the Squam River in Ashland New Hampshire. You can find this covered bridge at the end of Little Squam Lake which connects with the much larger Squam Lake. The original iron bridge at this location was condemed and the townspeople decided to build this one lane covered bridge. I was finished in 1990 and in 2040 it will be eligible to be added to the National Register of Historic Places. The New Hampshire fall colors are evident in this mid-October image. You can find this covered bridge by leaving Route 93 at exit 24 and taking Route 3 East towards Ashland. River Road will be on your right. 43°42'15.3787" N 71°37'47.3876" W
