Description
The shot heard round the world. Immortalized by Ralph Waldo Emerson is etched forever on the statue of the minuteman statue with his plough. The statue seems to signify that he is leaving his plough and farm, maybe for good and picking up his musket to fight for the liberty of his country. The date was April 19th 1775 when the British marched to Concord to capture the arms and powder that the militia had there. They were spotted and ny early on the morning the militia met them on concord common. The British then marched to this point to scour the local farms for the weapons. In the end the British lost three army regulars and the militia lost 8. So it began.
