Artist's Description
The rain clouds pass and the fall colors are lit by the sun, poking through after the storm. Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park is the only national park to focus on conservation history and the evolving nature of land stewardship in America. Once the boyhood home of George Perkins Marsh, one of America's first conservationists, and later the home of Frederick Billings, the property was given to the American people by its most recent owners, Laurance S. and Mary F. Rockefeller. I first hiked in the rain up to Pogue pond hoping that the sun would break through but I didn't wait long enough. I walked back do to the Billings Farm & Museum, a working dairy farm and a museum of agricultural and rural life. By the time I got here the sun was NOW... breaking through and this is when the magic can happen.
