Description
Cape Ann Light Station on Thacher Island was the last set of lighthouses to be built under colonial rule and the first that instead of marking a harbor entrance, it marks a navigational hazard. People love to try for the moon rising behind one or the other of the twin lights. If you use a long telephoto lens you can compress the distance between the lighthouse and the moon, making it seem like the moon is much larger than it is with a shorter telephoto lens. The human eye compensates like a long telephoto lens so you are able to gget closer to what the human eye sees.
