Hot air balloons in Queechee 2015. One of the earlier balloons leaving the launch grounds. With the sun to my back the gold This is the 36 annual Quechee balloon festival and while the balloons didn't not ascend to the heavens on Friday night, on Saturday morning they made up for it. 19 balloons took off after the morning fog cleared and due to a High pressure centered over Quechee, there was little wind and the balloon pilots were able to find winds traveling in different directions and stayed around the Quechee covered bridge and then folled the river to the pond and I hear that two of the balloons made it over to the Quechee gorge and went down inside the gorge. I also heard that this morning was the best in 20 years.
