Bees streaking in sunlight by Jeff Folger. Bee hives sit in a field out of the way of the farm machines and human interference. The summer morning light illuminates the bees as they go about their days business. Not realizing that they were putting on a show for us the observers. They caught my attention as I walked about this farm in Massachusetts. A streak of light caught my attention and then I see the bee hives and I want to keep a good distance from them. So I use a longer lens and a slower exposure of 1/13th of a second at F8.0. Where my eyes only caught one or two glints of the bees flying, the camera told a better story and dozens of bees can be seen in this one, thirteenth of a second shot. Imagine how many in a second and multiply that by 60 for one minute and then by 60 again for one hour and then during summer you have 15 or so hours of light. It makes one pause for a second and think about these numbers... Then it makes me glad I'm not a Honey bee!
