Artist's Description
On a Maine rocky shore I found a cairn of rocks in balance between the rocky shorline and the massive waves beating against the shoreline. Sooner or later the rocks will come tumbling down but I wasn't going to wait for that to happen. A cairn is usually to mark a spot for a memorial by Celtic peoples. Today Rock balancing or stone balancing is more of an art, discipline, in which rocks are naturally balanced on top of one another in various positions without the use of adhesives, or any other contrivances which would help maintain the art forms balance.
