Artist's Description

Autumn has arrived in Vermont and that means I'm on the road looking for covered bridges. We were on Route 15 near Cambridge Vermont when I saw this covered bridge, Lisa scanned the Vermont Gazetteer for it but nothing showed up in the map book. I suspected that this may be an unlisted covered bridge and private so I shot it from the road. When we got to our B&B in Stark NH Lisa found an old Vermont guide and low and behold it listed that very covered bridge as the Gates covered bridge. It's also known as the small bridge. It's a historical covered bridge that in the 1900s was knocked off it's foundation by a flood. It was still needed by this family so it was moved a short way downstream and is a private covered bridge today. The guide states that you need to photograph from the road, so I was right on that. So in our wanderings we found a lost covered bridge
