Artist's Description
yellow and orange Fall colors over the Durgin Covered Bridge. This is the fourth covered bridge at this location since the early 1800s. They all kept getting washed away. The bridge was named for James Durgin who had a nearby grist mill. The bridge was also a part of the Underground railroad from Sandwich to Nroth Conway. I found that the bridge has many good sides to photograph. from the east end you can walk up the hill to create a leading line to the entrance and there is a trail down the side to photograph the profile of the covered bridge. It's this view that you get to see the fall colors down stream.
