Description
A trip to Upstate New York calls for a stop at Niagara Falls and by day or by night it is stunning. The American falls is the larger falls to the left and then you have Bridal Veil Falls just past it (also known as Luna Falls and Iris Falls). Because of the angle they look much larger than the Horseshoe Falls that are mostly on the Canadian side of the border. In reality most of the water flows over the Horseshoe Falls. This early evening the sky turned a nice rosy color, reflecting the last rays of the sun on the overhead clouds. In 1959 they shut the water off to the American side of the waterfalls t let the Corp of Engineers study whether the U.S. should shore up the falls and keep the rocks from wearing away and falling below the falls. In the end they decided to nature take itâs course.
