Description
Salem Witch Museum afterwards. Salem becomes a ghost town after Halloween. As I walk around Salem Common on a foggy morning, early in November there are few to join me. A dog walker down the path one way and a person jogging down the other. An occasional car passing by but inbetween all this, I notice the stark contrast from a few days before when there were tents up in front fof the Salem Witch Museum and lines of people out the font door and down the sidewalk. The statue of Roger Connant, the founder of Salem stands on his rocky perch looking out over Salem and I have to wonder what he would make of his town now? Would he say, this is what you have done with it? Or would he be proud of the inclusive nature of the city who may have been hurtful to those 19 victims a little over 300 years ago and have since embraced such a diverse mixture of people today... thoughts?
