Description
Pedrick's Storehouse in Winter. In 2003 Salem Maritime National Historic Site, aquired from Marblehead the Pedrick Storehouse. It was built in Marblehead in 1770 by Thomas Pedrick and served many purposes over the years. In 1809 Captain William Story who had been a captain of the Frindship for several voyages, purchased the storehouse. He was not as successful as a merchant so he returned to the sea. This link to the Friendship's captain is what brought Pedrick's to Salem. In 1993 Marblehead took it apart and put it into storage and in 2003 it was given to the Salem Maritime National Historic site to sit next to the Friendship on Derby Wharf.
